Legal Recognition for Same Sex Couples Spreads State to State

March for Marriage Equality in DCIt is with great pride that we watch the headlines proclaim the good news for love and equality across the map. Sadly, in November 2009, gay and lesbian couples in Maine, not unlike California in 2008, saw their right to marry get overturned at the ballot box on election day.
