Manhattan Man Proposes To Actor
Private Helicopter Rides, Publicists, Fans, Bodyguards – the adventure that led to Justin’s romantic proposal.
Josh knew he wanted to propose at the exact location he had met Justin, his boyfriend of six years. Not exactly sure how he wanted to do it, he contacted Go Get It! to help create an unforgettable plan.
Knowing Justin was an actor and craved a life full of fun and excitement, Go Get It created a day full of thrilling surprises.
Justin had no idea what was in store for him when he went to work as a waiter at the Cornelia Spa Café. Actors posing as customers pretended to recognize him as one of their favorite “TV actors.” As their excitement grew, and Justin’s confusion deepened, Go Get It's founder, Jenifour Jones, rushed in playing the part of Justin’s publicist.
She demanded that the “fans” give him space and quickly handed him a script saying it was for his film audition later that day. Dumbfounded, Justin stood there watching as Jenifour led the couple out of the cafe. He then glanced down at the script and almost fell over at what he saw before him: 3 pages of the exact conversation he had just had. Every word was exactly the same. Was he on Puunk’d or in the twilight zone?
This was only the beginning.
Justin took the elevator downstairs holding on to his boss’s arm in what he said felt like an eternity. Once in the lobby he was shocked to see a bodyguard, a limo, and swarms of paparazzi and fans all holding pictures of him.
“Oh my god- it’s him!” someone cheered. Utter pandemonium ensued. His “publicist” led him to the awaiting limo. Once inside, fans pounded on the window begging for autographs and taking pictures.
Then came his first clue. “Here- a fan gave me this,” his publicist said as she tossed him a leather book.
He opened it to find a page that read "chapter one." As he read chapter one, he realized it was describing the first day he and Josh had met. Tears formed as it became clear who was behind this surprise.
Along his romantic adventure, Justin had the time of his life. Strangers on the street recognized him and asked for autographs. He was taken to his favorite store to get a new outfit for his “fan-club signing,” chased by more adoring fans, and escaped lower Manhattan in a private helicopter.
As his surprise progressed, Justin received more “chapters” - each one recalling past memories of their relationship.
He would eventually be led to the first place they had met- Sarabeth’s Café. Seated amid roses and candles, Justin saw a scroll before him. He was filled with many emotions as opened the scroll and read the final chapter of his personalized book. The last line of the book read, “And now it was time to take the next step...”
Justin looked up and saw Josh standing in the doorway illuminated by the candles. His eyes were welling with tears as Josh got down on one knee and asked Justin if he would like to be together for the rest of their lives. Justin screamed YES!!!
